Visa Information

Visa is required for foreign-passport holders. However, if your passport and the length of your visit to Taiwan satisfy the following terms, then no visa is required:
Visa-Exempt Entry
The following countries are eligible for visa-exempt entry for 30 days or more:
  • Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia , Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United Sates and Vatican City State.
  • India, Thailand, Philippines, Viet Nam, and Indonesia: Visitors are from above countries also eligible for visa-empty entry if having a valid visa or permanent residence certificate issued by United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen Convention countries, Australia or New Zealand. However, an advanced registration shall be completed through “Advance Online Registration System for the Visitors of Nationals from Five Southeast Asian Countries to Taiwan.”

Requirements:
  • A passport with validity of at least six months upon entry . (*Japanese Citizen is entitled to validity of passport at least three months,under same other requirements) (unless otherwise stipulated by treaty or agreement)
  • A confirmed return air/sea ticket or an air/sea ticket and a visa for the next destination, and a confirmed seat reservation for departure.
  • No criminal record or not listed by the local authorities.
Duration of stay:
The duration of stay starts from the next day of arrival and is not extendable. Foreign visitors must depart by the end of the said duration.

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taipei Songshan Airport, Keelung Harbor, Taichung Airport, Taichung Harbor, Kaohsiung International Airport, Kaohsiung Harbor, Magong Airport, Taitung Airport, Hualien Airport, Hualien Harbor, Kinmen Airport, Shuitou Harbor and Fuao Harbor.
Obtaining a Visa
 
Visa can be obtained from Taiwan's embassies, consulates or designated representative offices.

Remark:

If there is no Taiwan representative office in your country, you are asked to submit visa application to the Taiwan offices in other countries. Please check with your travel agent concerning necessary procedures.

 
Visa for Mainland Chinese Participants

Due to the complication of visitor visa applications for participants from Mainland China, it is suggested that you contact the ICQCC-2013 Taipei Secretariat 3 months prior to the conference date.
